About Us

Our Mission

Our staff members at The Reading Clinic are prepared to provide a range of services to meet the specific and unique needs of the community.

  • We offer training and professional learning opportunities aligned to the Science of Reading to support  policy-makers, curriculum leaders, and administrators to explore whether their school mission and literacy framework is aligned to research and evidence-based practices.

  • We support teachers in implementing the Orton-Gillingham approach as a whole-class, Tier 1 preventative model. Training for Orton-Gillingham tutors and therapists utilizing a more traditional individualized diagnostic and prescriptive approach is also available.

  • Our Dyslexia Awareness and Advocacy Training is designed for all audiences. This training provides insight into the specific challenges individuals with dyslexia may face in a variety of educational work environments.

Testimonials

I want to personally thank you for visiting Ouabache Elementary. I have taught for over two decades and your dat of P.D. at Ouabache is quite possibly the BEST I have attended in my career. I appreciate your preparation, expertise, authenticity, and willingness to help us grow!

I have been an educator for 22 years, so sometimes I feel like it is all review, but the Instructional Hierarchy and Cognitive Load information was new for me. It's like the common sense things you know as a teacher, but you don't know why. I've seen so many kids with cognitive overload, and now I know how to help decrease the load.

Thank you Jamey! You made a strong impression on our educators.  We are grateful you made the time to share your knowledge.
